Developing Next Generation Leaders

With the oldest millennial almost 40, they are already in leadership positions. Gen Z, the next generation is already starting on their career paths and you should be investing in them. My best clients know this and are working to uncover the “Why” pf their organization. This is because the younger generations want to understand why what they do matters. They want to know how their work is affecting the world at large. The biggest problem is companies wait too long to start.

Leadership is not something you fall into and it take five to seven years to groom a candidate for a position. Train the candidates in interpersonal communication and coaching.  Find a mentor for a candidate and someone he or she respects. Identify future organizational needs then craft a position for a person. Train your senior leaders how to coach and mentor. With a little bit of forethought, you can develop the next generation of leaders who can bring your organization to the next level.

What people are saying.
Beth Sears provided her time and expertise to assist us in resolving a difficult and emotionally charged situation regarding our next work season in Africa … Beth was able first to empower us to honor the fact that there was major conflict in our thinking and helped us define a process to deal with the differing opinions. … In our final meeting, it was amazing to see the most entrenched and angry member of the group changed their demeanor. We came to a fine resolution and are a stronger body because of the experience. Beth deserves much credit for guiding and encouraging us and giving us the tools to meet our challenges. I recommend her work without hesitation.
